Whether you are visiting London or you are returning from your holiday and you flight from Malaga to Gatwick airport, you may need to know the main ways of transport we have to choose from:
The second airport in the UK has all the necessary services we may need upon our arrival and is situated about 45 minutes from the capital.
Amongst the different options we have from Gatwick airport, is the train. What train to take from the airport and how much does it cost?
This train to the centre of London can be full at rush hour and makes more stops than the Gatwick Express. The price of the ticket is cheaper and takes approximately 45 minutes to get to the last stop for an estimated price of 13.50 pounds.
This train is more comfortable and quicker with a terminal in the centre of London, in Victoria station, to where you’ll reach in about 30 minutes.
The station is situated in Gatwick’s south terminal, to where we’ll be able to reach using the monorail free service between the north and south terminal.
The journey from the airport to London Bridge takes about 45 minutes for an estimated price of 9.90 pounds. It's two main terminals where the journey ends are London Bridge and Kings Cross St Pancras, unlike the other trains.
From Gatwick airport’s bus station to the one in West Brompton, if we take the easybus, or the Victoria one, if we take the National Express, for a considerably cheaper price than the train’s (as from 2 pounds), although with a longer journey.
National Express has a bus service between Gatwick and Victoria station that run every hour and has an estimated price of 8 pounds for a simple ticket.
Easybus has a direct bus service with no stops between the airport and the centre of London or the Earl's Court/West Brompton tube station that run every 20 minutes and an estimated journey time of 1 hour.
To get to the Easybus stop we must head to the south terminal, so if we have to move from the north terminal, we can use the free monorail service, that will take us from one terminal to the other in only two minutes.
Easybus recommend to buy the tickets from their website with time ahead, for a price that can range from 2 pounds, although if we wish we can purchase the ticket at the arrivals desk for 10 pounds. (http://www.easybus.co.uk/)
You can also choose a taxi that you will find at the exit of the terminal. We recommend to ask the price of the journey to avoid unpleasant surprises. The average price of a taxi from Gatwick airport to the centre of London is about 90 pounds. A summary of prices and ways of transport from Gatwick to the centre of London:
