With only approx. 2600 inhabitants, Ardales offers a rich and varied gastronomy to whoever decides to visit. Amongst the most popular dishes in Ardales we must highlight the kid and lamb stew, although they also cook delicious dishes with pork.
In summer it’s very common to have the typical Andalusian gazpacho, a cold soup made with vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, bread, olive oil and garlic), very delicious and highly recommended if you haven’t had the chance to try it before.
The almond biscuits and the wine ‘roscos’, as well as the flat pastries of olive oil and the pastry pies are typical of Ardales, confectionary that you can buy in the very same ovens where they are elaborated.
In any case, the restaurants in Ardales also offer typical mountain dishes such as the fried eggs with chips and ‘chorizo’ (Spanish spicy sausage), also salads and other meats like beef or pork sirloin steaks, adjusting their menu this way for everyone.
