About Costa de la Luz

The south of Spain comprising the coast of Cadiz and Huelva from the mouth of the river Guadiana to Tarifa is called Costa de la Luz.

Tourism has led to growth along the coast, but there have been respected the protected natural areas such as Doñana National Park and the Bay of Cadiz among others, being these two the most popular.

The main features of the beaches that make up the Costa de la Luz of Cadiz are its natural beaches formed by white sand dunes and nudist areas.

Among the different populations on the map, we highlight the following:

Ayamonte
Possibly of Iberian origin, Ayamonte has passed from being Portuguese to Spanish and vice versa over the most recent history until finally it became part of Huelva.

It has beautiful natural places like beaches, the Rio Guadiana and the Marshes of Isla Cristina.

Punta Umbria
One of the main attractions of this town in Andalucia is the house museum showing the life of the British mine workers in the late nineteenth century.

Mazagon
This sea side town is situated only 16 kilometres from Huelva capital. One of the main attractions of Mazagon is its beaches and proximity to places of great natural wealth like Doñana Natural Park.

And in the part of Costa del la Luz corresponding to Cadiz there are other towns you can check.
