In Torremolinos we can find green areas if we are fond of nature and enjoy trekking routes surrounded by the autochthonous fauna and flora of the area.
Next to the municipal garden centre, it’s the area where the original sources of Torremolinos are located. The building of this botanical garden was built in 1488 and was visited by the Catholic Kings. The king Alfonso the 13th and the Queen Eugenia drank water from the spring fountain in the mill.
Today it is restored and is open to all visitors. The garden has a great botanical value and has a great amount of different species, amongst these species there are a few centenary specimen and a wild olive of about 1000 years old.
We recommend a visit to this botanical garden if you visit Torremolinos.
This park is recent and is situated in the northern part of Montemar. The reason for its name is because there used to be defensive battery here.
The park has paths and a large artificial lake of natural water of the area, the lake has boats that can be rented out in the park. The old defensive infrastructure of the civil war has been rehabilitated, so the old military emplacements can be visited. In the southern extreme of the park there is a viewpoint tower with a lift and stairs from where we can see a beautiful view of Torremolinos.

The route ends in the Cortijo del Sol Urbanisation in Alhaurin de la Torre.
