The Natural Area Enebrales in Punta Umbria stretches along the coast to La Bota Beach. This area offers several hiking trails that can be enjoyed on foot or by bike, including routes towards Punta Umbria Beach.
Junipers are a prominent feature of the area's flora, well adapted to the sandy environment. Visitors can explore the landscape via trails and boardwalks. The proximity to town and the excellent beaches make it an ideal day trip. Thanks to the tides, the beaches are often adorned with colourful shells.
Hiking Trails
Pinos del Mar – Marismas del Odiel: This 4.5-kilometre linear route of low difficulty starts in Punta Umbria and leads to the Odiel Marshes. It takes about an hour to complete and offers scenic views of the marshlands. (Map)
Pinos del Mar – Laguna de El Portil: Beginning in the Pinos del Mar Urbanization in Punta Umbria, this 7.6-kilometre route takes hikers to Laguna del Cuervo and then to Laguna del Portil. The hike takes approximately 2 hours and offers diverse natural scenery. (Map)
Laguna del Portil Trail: This 3.5-kilometre circular trail borders Laguna del Portil and can be enjoyed on foot or by bicycle. It includes access to a bird observatory, making it ideal for birdwatching. The trail is of low difficulty and can be completed in about an hour and a half. (Map)
Polideportivo – La Peguera – Salinas de Astur: Starting at the Municipal Sports Centre of Punta Umbria, this trail passes La Peguera and ends at Salinas de Astur, near a bird observatory in the Odiel Marshes. The 5.5-kilometre route is of low difficulty and takes about 2 hours to complete. (Map)
Punta Umbria to Huelva: This longer trail extends 22 kilometres and can be done on foot or by bike. Walking takes about 5 hours, while biking takes just under 2 hours. The route includes sections of wooden walkways leading to the beach, as well as camping and rest areas. (Map)
