Duration: Approximately four hours.
Starting from the picturesque village of Linares de la Sierra, this route takes you along the scenic Linares riverbank. Early in the journey, you'll encounter a bridge on your left that leads to the La Molinilla riverbank. The well-preserved track, flanked by stone walls and dotted with stones, continues until you reach another bridge. Here, the path splits into two, and you should take the left fork. After a steep ascent, you'll be rewarded with a panoramic view of Linares town. The track then meanders through meadows where the Iberian hog is often seen grazing.
As you continue, you'll notice an old mine on your left and a forest track that descends towards the riverbank, lined with elm trees draped in ivy. This serene section of the route offers a tranquil walking experience.
Following the riverbank upstream to its source, you'll find another track that leads to Aracena. Along the way, you'll pass several junctions, but Aracena's Castle serves as a reliable landmark to guide you.
Take some time to explore one of the most charming villages in the Sierra. Enjoy the traditional Andalusian architecture, visit the local church, and discover the village's fountains, washhouses, and the unique Llanos. This route is accessible for all, though it may be a bit long for young children.
