This museum situated in Marbella, in the Bazan hospital, opened in 1992 and is the place where they expose the works of different national artists and where they hold art conferences and drawing contests. Every year this museum gives out the National Engraving Awards.
This museum hosts a contemporary collection of artworks, including lithographs, xylographs and other forms of expression used by artists such as Picasso and Miró.
The museum’s permanent collection includes works from centuries ago, from 15th century engravings to contemporary artworks, where we can find different tendencies such as Dalí, Picasso or Miró.
In this museum one can appreciate the evolution of the art in Spain over the last few years. Eventually the museum creates exhibitions based on only one artist, like the one dedicated to Picasso where the National Art Museum collaborated to show 100 of his most important works.
Another one of the exhibitions that the the museum opened to the public was the celebration of its 250th anniversary, where they exposed all the engravings of the artist for the first time in Andalusia.
