Marbella is an important tourist destination, partly due to the natural blend between the beach and the mountain, with spectacular views from its golf courses and top quality in its infrastructures, with such emblematic places such as Puerto Banus, a port that receives luxury yachts and has exclusive clubs and shops of all the big designers.
Marbella also offers, for all those sports enthusiasts, tennis clubs, equestrian schools and natural landscapes of great beauty ideal for trekking while we enjoy the scenery.
Marbella has a rich past that has us left a legacy well worth seeing, amongst the most recommendable places to visit is the “Plaza de los Naranjos”, from the Renaissance period, with other buildings surrounding it from the 16th and 17th century like the town hall and the House of the Judge (Casa del Corregidor).
If you like archaeology and you wish to travel in time even more, we recommend a visit to the Roman villa of Rio Verde, the thermal baths of Guadalmina or the Paleo-Christian basilica of Vega del Mar.
Marbella is gastronomic richness Amongst its gastronomy, the fried fish, ajoblanco and the gazpacho, are only 3 of the many options available. Marbella also offers a wide selection of restaurants of international cuisine, so you won’t have any problems in finding a place that suits your tastes.
From Marbella, and specially if you have your own vehicle, you can go and visit a great amount of municipalities and inland villages. Only a few kilometres away we’ll find Mijas, a typical Andalusian white village with white houses and flowerpots on its balconies; or Guaro, with its annual Moorish Moon festival. Other tourist towns near Marbella are Estepona, Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Benalmadena.
The natural environment will surprise us with impressive views and photographs (if we take a camera) from the Sierra de las Nieves natural park.
