La Cala Resort in Mijas Costa is one of the largest and most exclusive resorts in southern Europe, with three 18-hole courses designed by renowned Cabell B. Robinson, the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain and a high standard 6-hole par 3 'pitch & putt'.
North Field (now called Campo America) is perhaps more difficult than the South (Campo Asia), shorter, but both require precision off the tee and a careful selection of clubs. The third golf course, Campo Europa, is using the river Ojen to differentiate it. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards. All three offer different challenges to golfers of all levels and require a good control of the field in addition to a variety of shots.
The course Europe opened in 2005 and is not only spectacular but it will be easier one for the average golfer. The fairways are generous from the tees and the greens are slightly larger than in the other courses. Golf La Cala gives a great option to golfers to have three 18-hole courses to choose from.
La Cala Resort also offers squash and tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, saunas, a restaurant and pro shop. The 5 Star Hotel La Cala has a central position among the La Cala golf courses. The Hotel offers excellent facilities and a spa in a privileged surrounding. All rooms have fantastic views of the golf course and mountains.
