Mijas Golf, situated inland Mijas a few kilometers from Fuengirola and only 20 minutes from Malaga airport, is probably the most popular golf course on the Costa del Sol. Mijas Golf consists of two 18-hole courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos.
Founded in 1976, Los Lagos was designed by Robert Trent Jones. This par 71 of more than 6,300 meters is distinguished by many strategically placed trees and wide streets lined with numerous lakes, hence its name (The Lakes).
Los Olivos, a par 70 of 5,840 meters length, also designed by Trent Jones, dates back to 1984 and is located in a smaller field with smaller greens, very sloping and well protected by bunkers; also, the large number of olive trees strategically placed around the fairways demand a more accurate and straight drive. Los Lagos and Los Olivos are complementary, but the latter is a major challenge for the golfer.
The Club house with an excellent restaurant is located in an old Andalusian farmhouse, where can be seen visitors from a variety of nationalities. The five-star hotel Guadalpin Byblos Spa is located on the golf courses, the two tee-one are located only 50 meters from the hotel.
