Cliffs of Maro-Cerro Gordo

This natural area located along the coastline has a total length of about 12 kilometres, offering beautiful views of the cliffs and its isolated beaches.

If you decide to explore these routes during the warmer months, we recommend bringing goggles to enjoy not only the scenery above sea level but also the underwater flora and fauna, including orange coral populations and other endangered species.

Main Hiking Trails

This short excursion of about 3 kilometres will take you along a path that includes the remains of a watchtower, which was once responsible for the defence of the coast.

Following the path along the top, you will reach a lookout with views of the villages of Maro and Nerja. Continuing to ascend, you will arrive at the Torre de Maro.

Following the path to the next summit, you can spot an abandoned house. Finally, you will arrive at a small cove where you can cool off after the hike and enjoy the underwater scenery.

Always oriented towards the beach, continue until you reach a small meadow where you can take a break and take some pictures.

Following the same direction, the road will begin to disappear, and a descent with a little more difficulty starts. You will come to a creek that you have to follow until the beach, where you can continue to enjoy the underwater flora and fauna.
